My name is Colin Masterson I am a sports performance coach at Villanova University. I come from a diverse sports background in which I have participated in Football, Baseball, Basketball, Lacrosse, Golf, Track & Field, Soccer etc. I played four years of college football at Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania.
Since graduating from Widener University with a degree in Business Administration: Accounting I have quickly switched gears. I instantly knew the desk life was not for me after working 3 years as an Accountant. From there I quit my job and took an internship at the University of Maryland working with the strength and conditioning staff. I spend around 10 months in College Park, Maryland before moving back to Pennsylvania to be an intern at Villanova University. After a brief internship there I was able to attain a job as a professional intern before finally becoming a full time Assistant Sports Performance Coach.
Currently I am the head strength coach for Softball, Women’s Lacrosse, Women’s Soccer, Golf, and assist with Football.
Outside of Villanova I am also a personal trainer (1 on 1 or small group training) for elementary school through collegiate level athletes as well as executive athletes looking stay fit for life. I hold the following certifications: NSCA CSCS, FRCms, TPI Level 1, TPI Eldoa and USAW.
Growing up in a blue collar lifestyle I am grateful for all I had and did not have. One thing that stuck out to me as I grew older was my lack of financial literacy. My parents taught me the basics: the value of a dollar and how to save. As I continued to educate myself and learn from others I have slowly become financially literate. I still value saving, but am now focused on how can I make my money make money. As I continue to learn I want to be a mentor for those who are looking to gain a better understanding of their finances.
Other notes about me:

-I am a life long learner with a passion on all things health & wellness and financial literacy.

-I like to challenge myself and get uncomfortable (physically and mentally)

-I used to hate reading, but now its one of my guilty pleasures
-I am not a good writer so bare with me
